সেক্সটিং বৈধতা দিয়ে আইন পাশ

নিউ ম্যাক্সিকোর সরকার সে দেশের টিনএজারদের মধ্যে নগ্ন ছবি ও সেক্সটিং চালাচালি করার আইন পাশ করেছে। সেক্সটিং এর জন্য তারা আর আইনের মুখোমুখি হতে হবে না। নতুন আইনের মাধ্যমে টিনএজারদের সেক্সটিংকে বৈধ বলে ঘোষনা করা হয়েছে। শিশু নিপীড়নমূলক ছবি বিষয়ে এই আইনের পরিবর্তন আনা হয়েছে দেশটিতে।

দেশটির গভর্নর সুজানা মার্টিনেজ জানান, আইনের এক খসড়া বিলে তিনি স্বাক্ষর করেছেন । আইন অনুযায়ী ১৪-১৮ বছর বয়সীরা টিনএজরা একে অন্যের সম্মতিক্রমে সেক্সটিং করতে পারবেন। অর্থাৎ প্রাপ্তবয়স্করা যে ছবি আদান-প্রদান করেন তারাও তা করতে পারবেন। এজন্য তারা আর 'শিশু পর্ন'-সংক্রান্ত আইনের মুখোমুখি হবেন না।

এ বিষয়ে স্টেট সিনেটর জর্জ মুনোজ জানান, শিশুরা শিশুই তারা ভুল করতেই পারে কিন্তু নগ্ন ছবি আদান-প্রদানের কারণে শিশুদের বড় ধরনের শাস্তি হতে পারে না।  তাছাড়া আইন করে এটা বন্ধও করা যাবে না।

 

একই বিষয়ে, স্টেট অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল অভিযোগ তুলে ধরে বলেন, আপত্তিকর ছবি ও সেক্সটিংয়ের কারণে শিশুদের চরম শাস্তির মুখোমুখি হতে হচ্ছে । আধুনিক স্মার্টফোনের যুগে এটি অত্যন্ত স্বাভাবিক বিষয়। এজন্য শিশুদের চরম মূল্য দেওয়ার মানে হয় না।

 

নিউ ম্যাক্সিকোর আমেরিকান সিভিল লিবার্টিজ ইউনিয়নের পলিসি ডিরেক্টর স্টিভেন রবার্ট অ্যালেন তার মন্তব্যে বলেন, খুব সাধারণ জ্ঞান থেকে বোঝা যায়, সেক্সটিং টিনএজারদের জন্য খুব স্বাভাবিক একটি আচরণ। এটি আটকাতে চরম শাস্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা  অযৌক্তিক। শিশুদের এসব কর্মকাণ্ড সামলাতে সবার আগে অভিভাবককে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে।

যদিও আইনটি পাস হওয়ার আগে ম্যাক্সিকান সিটিতে এই অভিযোগে খুব বেশি টিনএজার সংশ্লিষ্ট অভিযোগে গ্রেপ্তার হননি এবং খুব কম সংখ্যক বাবা-মা পুলিশের কাছে অভিযোগ করেন।

যে সমস্ত টিনএজার ডজন ডজন ছবি পাঠিয়েছেন, আগের আইন অনুযায়ী এ অপরাধে তাকে উল্লেখযোগ্য পরিমাণ শাস্তি ভোগ করতে হবে। যুগে সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে এটা আইনের ভুল সিদ্ধান্ত বলে মনে করছিলেন বিশেষজ্ঞরা। তাই এই আইনের পরিবর্তন।

'The Bachelor' Episode 9

To say that what happened on this week’s episode of The Bachelor was dramatic would be a terrible understatement. Over the years, I think many Bachelors and Bachelorettes have fallen in love with two (and maybe even more) people. I think it’s very possible and I think it’s part of the journey and part of the magic that is The Bachelor. But for the first time ever, a Bachelor told two different women that he loved them.

I know Ben pretty well and I know he meant everything he said — but man has he put himself, and the women, in a very, very tough position. Before we get into the obvious repercussions of that, let’s talk about how things went for Ben and his remaining three women in Jamaica.

Hometown dates are very intimate, and of course, none of these women have had a chance to spend any time with Ben since he met their families, so of course there’s a lot to catch up on. Caila, as we’ve seen is a very intelligent and introspective woman and between her hometown date and her day with Ben, she had obviously had a lot on her mind. Even though we were in on of the most romantic places on Earth, it’s hard not to let your doubts get to you. Even the crystal blue waters of Jamaica can’t always remove the clouds of thoughts that live in your brain as you fall in love with someone who is still actively dating other people.

Even though the day for Caila and Ben was a little off, I was proud of her for being able to identify the cause of there worries and I was proud of Ben for pressing her to make sure she was ok. As the day descended into night, Caila was able to take a deep breath, look into Ben’s eyes, and let him know that she was in love with him. It was a big moment for a woman who had told him in the Bahamas that she was afraid she couldn’t allow herself to love someone fully, and Ben really appreciated her depth and complexity as their relationship progressed. He did not tell Caila he loved her back. No one expected him to. But soon after that, everything changed.

It was a magical day for Ben and Lauren as they helped dozens and dozens of sea turtles find their way into the water for a better chance at life. Conservation efforts are really important to all of us at The Bachelor, and Ben and Lauren were great ambassadors on this day, helping the sea turtle population in the Caribbean flourish. Our entire crew had to be incredibly careful that day and all took many precautions to make sure nothing we did interfere with the march of the turtles into the sea. Everyone was truly emotional about the turtles but Lauren and Ben were further focused on each other. A double rainbow (REALLY!) over the water that day really made this beautiful day even more perfect.

That night, in the fantasy suite at Sandals in Ocho Rios, Lauren finally confessed what she had been feeling for a while and what she failed to tell him at the end of her hometown date… that she loved him. And at that moment Ben told her that he loved her too. It’s a thing I can’t remember ever seeing on our show, a Bachelor telling someone that he was in love that early, and to hear the “I love you” given and returned was something I wasn’t sure I’d ever see on The Bachelor.


And just when I thought things couldn’t get any stranger, they absolutely did. JoJo and Ben took an incredible helicopter ride over Jamaica, and let me tell you those views on TV are spectacular but they’re even more incredible in person. When they landed at YS Falls, JoJo had no idea that something that breathtaking even existed. JoJo too was aware of the reality of Ben and knew that letting herself fall for a man who was still seeing others was risky. But she put her heart ahead of her head and surprised Ben by telling him that she was in love with him also. And to everyone’s surprise, Ben told JoJo he loved her too.

I can’t imagine any romantic situation more complicated than this. Of course, before Ben has to make any ultimate decisions, he still has another week of dates to go, but he also realized that since he had not fully fallen in love with Caila, he would have to say goodbye to her next.
Caila, who is very spontaneous and a hopeless romantic, knew that Ben would have some time alone at home during and felt so madly in love that she didn’t want to waste any moments she could spend in this magical location with the man of her dreams. Unfortunately, Ben had already made up his mind. In no way do I think Caila expected to try and change Ben’s mind. In fact, I think she firmly thought Ben loved her too, and based on their relationship up to that point, that’s completely understandable.

Caila’s departure was truly heartbreaking. The feeling of saying goodbye to someone you love is always hard, but to have it be so unexpected? Well, that’s truly devastating. Caila was heartbroken and Ben was heartbroken as well to have to say goodbye to such a beautiful, complex, and wonderful woman.
Now, Ben is in a real pickle. He is going to introduce two women he loves to his parents. He is going to go on final dates with two women who know he loves them back. Houston, we have a problem. That is going to be the most dramatic season finale in history!

But first, we’ll be back next week with the Women Tell All. All your favorite women will be back to talk about all the drama that took place this season. You’ll hear from Lace, the Twins, and Jubilee. Caila will see Ben for the first time since that fateful day in Jamaica. And of course, Olivia will be back to confront the other women in what is guaranteed to be an unbelievably dramatic reunion. You don’t want to miss it!

Oscars 2016 winners list

Hollywood’s biggest night has finally arrived. The 88th annual Academy Awards ceremony is here, live from Los Angeles with host Chris Rock

Nominations for the 2016 Oscars were announced last month, with The Revenant leading all films with 12 nods, including best picture, best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio, and best director for Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Mad Max: Fury Road scored 10 nominations for second-most among 2015 movies, nabbing citations for best picture, best director for George Miller, and a surfeit of technical nods.

Heading into Sunday night, awards season was dominated by conversation around DiCaprio, who is looking to win his first Academy Award for acting in six tries. The 41-year-old is a heavy favorite to win best actor, after grabbing the award at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, and BAFTA Awards. Other favorites include Brie Larson in the best actress category for Room, Sylvester Stallone in the best supporting actor category for Creed, and Alicia Vikander in the best supporting actress category for The Danish Girl.

As for the night’s biggest prize, eight films were nominated for best picture, with The Revenant, Spotlight, and The Big Short ahead of the field as potential winners.

3 JMB men on 18-day remand over priest murder

 Dhaka: A court in Panchagarh placed three members of Jama'at-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) each on 18-day remand in the case of killing a priest in Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh district.

Senior judicial magistrate Marjia Khatun of Debiganj Amoli Adalat passed the order on Saturday (February 27) after hearing the remand petition.

Court sources said investigating officer of the cases and Debiganj thana officer-in-charge (OC) Aiyub Ali sought 20-day remand for each in two cases.

After hearing the petitions, the court granted 10-day remand each for the trio in murder case and 8-day each for explosives case.

During the time, Public Prosecutor Aminur Rahman was present in the court.

Remanded accused are Hares (32) of Sundardighi union, Ramjan Ali (20) of Dandapaal union and Alamgir Hossain (30) of sadar union of Debiganj upazila.

They all are member of banned outfit Jama'at-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), said police.

On February 26, police, in a drive, detained the three accused, including mastermind of the killing of a priest in Debiganj upazila.

During the drive, the lawmen seized two pistols, three magazines, one grenade, two cocktails, five round bullets and three knives.

On Monday (February 22), three people were detained for their alleged link to the killing. They are JMB members Khalilur Rahman (55) and Babul Hossaon (35) and Islami Chhatra Shibir activist Jahangir Alam (35).

Later, they each were placed on 15-day remand in the murder case.

Following the information given by the trio during remand, a team of police conducted the drive and detained mastermind of the killing mission and two others.

On February 21, miscreants slit the throat of head priest the Santo Gauria temple Jogeswar Dasadhikari, with sharp weapons.

1-lakh yaba seized in Teknaf

Dhaka: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 100,000 yaba tablets from Hoabrang border in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.

The recovery of big consignment of yaba was found in the bordering area around 11:00pm on Friday.

However, no smuggler was detained as they managed to flee the spot, said BGB-2 commander lieutenant colonel M Abu Jar Al Zahid.

The seized contraband will be destroyed later, he added.

Dhaka: Police on Saturday (February 27) arrested Matiur Rahman (50), ameer of Jhenaidah upazila unit Jamaat-e-Islami in the Jhenaidah district.

He was arrested from his house in Surot village of the upazila this morning.

Jhenaidah Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Hasan Hafizur Rahman told banglanews that the Jamaat leader is accused in five cases over creating violence in the district.

‘He was fugitive for a long.’

‘On information, police conduct a drive and arrested Matiur Rahman,’ the OC added.

Juba League leader found dead

Dhaka: A leader of Juba League, youth wing of ruling Awami League, was found dead at Brahmandi Nishipur village of Gangni upazila of Meherpur on Saturday.

The deceased was Shukur Ali, 50, publicity secretary of Nishipur ward Juba League.

Locals recovered the body of Shukur from a pond of the village around 7:00am.

The body bore injury marks in head and neck, said Gangni thana officer-in-charge (OC) Akram Hossain told banglanews that on information, police force has been sent to the spot.

Pro-AL panel sweeps Dhaka Bar polls

DHAKA: The ruling Awami League-backed lawyers panel swept the election to Dhaka Bar Association bagging 21 of the 27 posts including president and secretary.

Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Shah Alam Khan declared the unofficial results at 6:00am on Saturday.

According to unofficial results, AL-backed white panel candidate M Saidur Rahman Manik was elected as president of Dhaka Bar Association and M Ayubur Rahman has been elected as general secretary.

AL-backed panel secured nine secretarial posts out of 12 while bagged 12 posts in executive council out of 15.

On the other hand, BNP-backed panel won three posts in secretarial body while bagged three posts in executive council in the election.

This year's winning candidates of the white panel are: Abu Bakar Forhad (vice president), Abdus Salam Khan (senior assistant general secretary) M Shahdat Hosian Bhuiyan (assistant general secretary) Ali Ahmed (Library Secretary), Lucky Akter Flora (cultural affairs secretary), Abdul Hye Mamun (office secretary) and M Baharul Alam Bahar (Sports affair secretary).

In the secretarial posts, winning candidates from blue panel are: Afroja Begum Sheli (senior assistant general secretary), Abu Bakkar Siddique (treasurer) and M Shfiqul Islam (Social welfare Secretary).

The two-day voting in Dhaka Bar Association election 2016-17 ended at lawyers’ association auditorium of Dhaka Bar in the capital on Thursday  afternoon (February 25).

Earlier, a list of 15,372 legal voters for Supreme Court Bar Association election was declared to elect their 27 representatives from 65 candidates.
