Jamaat calls hartal towmorrow

Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has called day long hartal for January 7 protesting the upheld of death penalty of their amir war criminal Matiur Rahman Nizami.

Party’s acting amir Makbul Ahmad and acting secretary general Dr Shafikur Rahman declared the countrywide daylong hartal after the Supreme Court order.

The appellate division of the Supreme Court on January 06 upheld the death sentence of war criminal Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami amir Matiur Rahman Nizami on charge of mass & intellectuals killing,  and rape.

Party’s acting amir Makbul Ahmad says in the statement, said the allegations that were brought against Nizami are ‘false, baseless, fabricated and fictitious’.

There also claimed that people of the country have rejected the verdict. Nizami would file petition seeking review the appeal verdict.
