Jhenaidah upazila Jamaat ameer arrested

Dhaka: Police on Saturday (February 27) arrested Matiur Rahman (50), ameer of Jhenaidah upazila unit Jamaat-e-Islami in the Jhenaidah district.

He was arrested from his house in Surot village of the upazila this morning.

Jhenaidah Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Hasan Hafizur Rahman told banglanews that the Jamaat leader is accused in five cases over creating violence in the district.

‘He was fugitive for a long.’

‘On information, police conduct a drive and arrested Matiur Rahman,’ the OC added.
