DHAKA: The 30th National Poetry Festival will be held from February 1, this year, with the slogan of "peace and fraternity."
Versatile Writer Syed Shamsul Haq will inaugurate the function at 10 in the morning, which will be preceded by placing wreaths at the Language Martyrs' Monument.
The festival started in 1987 to protest the autocratic rule prevailing then.
Poets from rural areas of Bangladesh and also from India, Sweden, Norway, Morocco and Taiwan will be attending the Festival this year.
